I am beginning to feel like one of those peope who always talk about their medical problems, but, I know that everyone wants to hear how things are going, so .... the first day went well. I am managing dressing changes, keeping up with meds, and everything else that goes with caring for a disabled person. Gerald spared me and gave himself the shot he needed. We are both a little tired, but feeling good. Our first doctor visit is Friday, so maybe we will know then how long this will last. He is getting pretty good with the wheelchair and if tomorrow is as pretty as today, we are going to get out on the deck. Maybe I'll even get to do some gardening.
This morning as I was kinda skimming through the Psalms (not my recommended method of Bible Study) the phrase that seemed to jump out on every page was "Your steadfast love endures forever" The last 12 days have been a bit of a roller coaster and at times I have not felt very "steadfast", but I have never doubted the eternal, faithful love of God. There were times when we both felt almost like we were in a cocoon of protection and love. Only our God could provide that peace. Praise Him for His goodness and mercy toward us.
We love you and look forward to seeing you soon.
Susan
We DO want to hear. Thanks for keeping us posted. We love you both!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update. Hopefully when we are all over this "bug" we can come visit.
ReplyDeleteSo Sorry to hear about the accident. I can kinda relate from Jennifer's and Bobby's accident now that has been about 7 years. I know God will look over you and bring you through this terrible time. You are in our prayers and the Allensville Methodist Church members prayers as well. With Love..
