While the gristmill of truth turns slow, the rumor mill reaches supersonic speed! It's amazing to hear what I've been through :)
If you've heard more than these let me know..............
Just to clarify:
I was NOT hit by a tractor-trailer
I was NOT hit by a large truck pulling a trailer
I was NOT run over in my own driveway
I was NOT on a Harley
(I can do plenty of damage with my own leg power- I don't need additional horse power)
I was NOT doing 60 MPH - it was more like 20
I was NOT given a citation
I was NOT on life support at any time
I did NOT suffer brain damage (beyond what was already there)
I am NOT toothless (five were chipped or broken - and can all be fixed)
I am NOT limited to drinking all my food through a straw
I am NOT wheelchair bound for life
I am NOT going to write a book on weight loss techniques
(There are better ways to drop those unwanted pounds!!)
I can NOT wait to get healed up and back on the bike (Spring 08 is the goal)
I can NOT wait to get back to Westwood doing the things God has called me to do -
(but I will be patient and trust the Lord's timing and obey my nurse's instructions)
The visit to the Dr. went well today. He was pleased with the progress on the muscle flap and skin graft. He wants my leg to remain elevated for three more weeks - although within a week or two as I feel like it I can try to get around a little more. I hope to be in the office for a few hours a day in a couple of weeks.
I love you all and thank God for you.
Krystal had heard you were in a coma after the accident.
ReplyDeletecomment made to me at work, "I hope he didn't ruin his pretty face"!
Maybe you do have a booK!
Get yourself well; many people asking about you.

Hilarious!! Glad you've cleared everything up. Once you've written it on your blog, it HAS to be true! Thanks for keeping everyone updated. We love you :)
ReplyDeleteSo funny. I guess the truth will have to do :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you are well enough that we can all laugh ..... things could have been very different.
Each rumor you've refuted represents something to be thankful for! God is good.
OK ,I admit it... I did hear that you were hit by a transfer truck :) but the source was a nine year old little girl in my Sunday School class so I did NOT repeat the rumor.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy teaching that group of kids but sometimes they have an interesting slant on events, especially during prayer requests! Oh, maybe you'll get a laugh out of this story. On day I was teaching the kids in my class about Jesus preaching and teaching to the multitudes.I wondered aloud "How did Jesus' voice carry loud enough for all the people to hear, even those at the very back? Then I said "You know Jesus did not have a microphone wrapped around his head like Pastor Gerald does on Sunday mornings so everyone can hear him, even the people at the back of the church." The kids got a perplexed look on their faces, then one of them spoke up and said "That's a microphone? I thought it was what he HEARS with!"LOL they thought the mike was your hearing aid!

Andrew and I had a good chuckle... thanks!
ReplyDeleteI heard aliens from Mars were to blame for the whole thing...is that true???
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear all is going well. Many here in Arkansas are praying for you and have asked after you. Isn't it wonderful how God's people join together to lift each other up, regardless if they know you or not! What a wise God we serve to give us such a large family.
So...I think Justin told you...I definitely had someone ask me when you were going to get your jaw unwired. I laughed out loud, then I had to apologize and explain how crazy the rumors have been! It is definitely overwhelming to think about what didn't happen, but could have. God is so good!
